    Cuban Cave Party

I am good at napping. I had so many naps while I was in Cuba. The great thing about that is it wasn’t hard to fall asleep after a long day on the water. When my alarm went off at 10pm I was rested and ready. Amber on the other hand is not a napper and read while I slept but was unable to sleep herself. We quickly got ready for our night in a cave. Not knowing what it would be like or what we would be like, we decided not to bring phones or purses or anything. This means that there is no photographic evidence of our night…

    Sun, Sea, and Catamaran

Today we were both up before the 7:00am alarm. This is because a duck under our window would not shut up at all. It kept honking and honking. I got up to yell at it to shut up and I see three more ducks round the corner of the building coming towards the lonely duck. He then shut up, so I guess he was calling his friends. I went to go get back in bed but the alarm went off right after I got back in. Tale of Two Cities: Ciego de Avila and Moron

Our bus for the two city tour was leaving at 8:10am. We set the alarm to go off at 7am. This would give us time to go and have breakfast and gather our things before we had to be on the bus. At breakfast I used the crêpe station. With cinnamon, sugar and fresh fruit it was a very filling breakfast.

    Sunday: Day 1

I woke up around 7:30 local time. Amber was not ready to get up so I typed out the beginning of our travel adventure while she slept for another hour. Around 8:30 we began to get up and find the breakfast buffet. We were pleasantly surprised by the room. It’s large and has a great amount of space around the food stations so you don’t feel crowded or like you will be bumped by others who are passing by.

Travelling just to Travel: Getting to Cuba

I forgot how long it really takes to get off the island I live on. On Friday I left work at 10:45, early thanks to my principal letting me go. I followed what had to be the slowest drivers that live in my area, all doing about 80km/h in a 100km/h area. I passed each one as I had a chance until I picked up Amber on the highway at Port McNeil. No time to even go into McNeil, no we were determined to reach Duke Point Ferry for the 3:15 sailing, rather than wait for the 5:45 sailing.
