    WPC: Danger – En français

Pay attention to your children. This could be them. At least this is what I understand from this sign from Quebec, Canada. If you have a better translation please let me know. Edit: I was kindly corrected. It says “Pay attention to our children… it could be one of yours”.  This one has a much nicer feeling of community to it.

    Zadar, Croatia

I got up in the morning and checked out of the Hostel. I headed down to the bus depot to catch a quick bus (only 2 hours) up to Zadar. This bus didn’t take the coastal road but went inland and it was nice to see a different look to Croatia. I walked to the hotel I’d booked. I’d chosen a hotel because I had a job interview that evening and wanted a private room with good internet connection for Skype. After checking in waited about an hour for my interview. I now know it went well. After the interview I left and walked to the Old Town in Zadar…

    Split, Croatia

I was up and checking out of the hostel in the morning so I could get down the hill and catch the 11:30am ferry off Hvar island and continue my journey to Split. I didn’t have a hostel booked but was sure I could find something. I’d looked online at where most hostels were located and had a good idea of where I was headed when I got there. When you dock in Split you are right by the bus and train station. This is handy so you know where to go when you are leaving Split again. All travel is in the same area. You head up the road…

    Hvar, Croatia

I woke up a little late and a little rough so I decided to have a nice relaxing beach day while I waited for the 4pm ferry. I used some time to check out hostels in Hvar so I had a destination in mind, then I checked out of the hostel and headed back to old town. I made my way through town to the marina on the outside of the walls. There is a rough and rocky path that leads to some outcrops with places to stretch out and tan. They also have some stairs cut into the rocks every once and awhile. This was nice because when you…

    Dubrovnik

Breakfast was included with the hotel. I had a nice meal before heading back to the room to pack my stuff and check out. I wanted to catch the ferry and travel to Hvar, one of the islands near by. I left my luggage at the hotel and caught the bus back into Old Town. I paused at the tours but after learning the prices opted to do my own tour. I went in and bought a ticket to walk the walls of the city. Not too much walking at a length of 2km or 1.2mi. From that vantage point you have a wonderful view of everything inside the wall…

    Kotor and Dubrovnik

On my way home from Cuba my grandma picked me up and we talked about the trip and pictures. She then reminded me (again) that I had never finished posting my pictures from our trip in the summer, mostly because I became distracted by life back in Canada and my new job. I told her I would work on that. Lucky for me I take very detailed notes while I travel and have spent some time fleshing them out to put on my blog, with all the pictures she needs. So now, while I have finished posting about Cuba, I am able to entertain you with the rest of my…
