Naples (Airport)
Due to our tour to Mount Vesuvius running late, we arrived in Naples without much time to explore. We got to the train station and looked into taking the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. Unfortunately, the last run was at 5 pm and it was almost 5 pm. Mom and I decided to just head to the hotel and then we could walk around the area and find a place for dinner.
Our hotel was a capsule hotel in Naples Airport. It was built in the smaller, secondary terminal. It was a short walk outside to the main terminal. These small capsules are just large enough for a double bed and a foot of space to stand and store your bags. For a late or early flight, it was a great little place to stay.
They also offer a 10% discount card to use for breakfast at the airport.
This should be your last stop of the day. Mom and I checked in and dropped off our bags and were hoping to walk and find dinner. There were two restaurants down the road that were an easy walk. However, both of them had closed their kitchens for the day and only had whatever sandwiches remained. Neither mom or I wanted sandwiches. We walked a bit more but couldn’t find anywhere to eat.
We decided to see what the airport had. The airport has a convenience shop and a small sandwich shop on the ground floor. Upstairs the airport has a bakery and a McDonalds. There were many things that looked good to eat for dessert at the bakery, but no so many dinner choices.
Mom and I found that we should have stayed in town to eat and then travelled to the airport. We had something to eat a McDonalds but it was both gross and expensive. We decided to return to the hotel and have a lazy night before we had to be up early for our 7 am flight.
