Loching Around Scotland

We left Grandma visiting friends in Glasgow. The rest of us travelled Northwest to reach the Highlands. We stopped in the village of Luss, to explore and make our way to the shore of Loch Lomond. It is one of the largest lochs in the United Kingdom.

Luss

The village of Luss was quaint. The houses looked like they were taken from a storybook. The people we passed were friendly and informative. Even the notices posted around town had a friendly feel.

Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond is large and seems to go on and on when you look left or right. There is a dock built for boats to moar but mostly it seems to be used by tourists getting a picture of the loch or the village.

From Loch Lomond, we headed up into the highlands. Our goal was to travel to Inverness where we had our hotel booked for the night. Along the way, we stopped to see various sites. I liked seeing all the farms in valleys surrounded by their animals.

We made a pit stop at a road side rest area. This man was there playing for people as they arrived and rested. It was a haunting sound with the wind and other natural sounds in the background. We tried to record a video but the sound was mostly wind.

As we drove the road beside Loch Ness we watched for Nessie. Along the Loch is Urquhart Castle. We made a quick stop. The stop was quick because we didn’t want to stop and buy tickets to enter. We were tired of driving. Our goal was to reach our hotel and stretch our legs.

We spent the entire drive along Loch Ness looking for anything that could even remotely be a sea creature. Unfortunately, Nessie didn’t show herself to us. All the more reason to go back.
